Learn cluster administration with real-world system administrator concepts and practices, including planning, installation and configuration, load balancing and tuning diagnosing deployment issues, performance, setting up a Hadoop cluster with direct access NFS, snapshots, monitoring cluster health, resolving hardware issues and troubleshooting job errors.

This section covers pre-installation testing and verification, installing a MapR cluster, verifying the installation, and performing post-installation benchmarking.

Prerequisites

  • Completion of ESS 100, ESS 101, ESS 200
  • Basic Hadoop knowledge and intermediate linux knowledge
  • Experience using a text editor such as vi
  • Terminal program installed; familiarity with command-line options such as mv, cp, ssh, grep, cd, and useradd
