ADM 202 - Data Access and Protection

ADM 202 is the third course in the Cluster Administration curriculum. This course covers how cluster data is accessed and protected. It takes an in-depth look at the power of MapR snapshots and mirror volumes, and using Access Control Expressions to control access to a volume’s data.

    • LAB: Snapshots
  • Lesson 10: Mirrors
    • Describe how mirrors work
    • Configure and use local mirrors
    • LAB: Mirrors and schedules
    • Use cascading and remote mirrors

Prerequisites

  • Required:
    • Completion of ADM 200 - Install a MapR Cluster
    • Completion of ADM 201 - Configure a MapR Cluster
    • Basic to intermediate Linux knowledge, including
      • The ability to use a text editor, such as vi
      • Familiarity with basic command-line options such as mv, cp, ssh, grep, cd, and useradd
    • Access to, and the ability to use, a laptop with a browser and terminal program installed (such as terminal on the Mac, or PuTTY on Windows)
  • Recommended:
    • Completion of the on-demand course ESS 100 - Big Data Essentials
    • Completion of the on-demand course ESS 105 - Apache Hadoop Essentials
    • Completion of the on-demand course ESS 110 - MapR Converged Data Platform Essentials
  • Optional:
    • Basic Hadoop knowledge
