Learn cluster administration with real-world system administrator concepts and practices, including planning, installation and configuration, load balancing and tuning diagnosing deployment issues, performance, setting up a Hadoop cluster with direct access NFS, snapshots, monitoring cluster health, resolving hardware issues and troubleshooting job errors.

This section covers how cluster data is accessed and protected. It takes an in-depth look at the power of MapR snapshots and mirror volumes, and using Access Control Expressions to control access to a volume’s data.

Prerequisites

  • Completion of ESS 100, ESS 101, ESS 200, ADM 200, ADM 201
  • Basic Hadoop knowledge and intermediate linux knowledge
  • Experience using a text editor such as vi
  • Terminal program installed; familiarity with command-line options such as mv, cp, ssh, grep, cd, and useradd
