About this Course

This course is targeted towards developers and administrators to give them the core concepts necessary to build simple MapR Streams applications. It introduces a basic framework for building producer and consumer applications, and discusses options for configuring these applications. Core concepts are taught using real use-case scenarios that form the basis of hands-on labs.

Prerequisites

  • Completion of ESS 100, ESS 101ESS 350, DEV 350
  • Basic Hadoop knowledge and intermediate linux knowledge
  • Experience using a text editor such as vi
  • Terminal program installed; familiarity with command-line options such as mv, cp, ssh, grep, cd, and useradd
  • Beginner-to-intermediate fluency with Java in an IDE

Lesson 3: Introduction to Producers and Consumers

  • Create a Stream
  • Lab 3.1: Import the "ms-lab" Project
  • Develop a Java Producer
  • Lab 3.2: Finish Code, Build, and Run the "ms-lab" Project
